Anti-Procrastination Crochet Day!

As you can see, I am a terrible procrastinator (or is that wonderful procrastinator?).  It’s a talent, really.  My blog is a good example of that. The last time I blogged was over half a year ago!

Last week on the BMD Facebook page we had some fun with a Q&A day.  2 of the questions focused on projects people would love to begin (or complete), but haven’t for one reason or another.  It seems many people would love to crochet something beautiful for themselves, but spend so much time crocheting for others that they never get the chance.  Others are intimidated by projects that seem overwhelmingly huge and time consuming.  And some feel they don’t have the skills to create what they dream of creating.

I have come up something to help all of my fellow procrastinators!  Every Wednesday from now on will be Anti-Procrastination Crochet Day!  To join the challenge, leave a comment here telling us which crochet project you have been procrastinating on (either not beginning or not completing) as well as your excuse reason for putting it off.

This is where things start to happen.  Beginning today and continuing on each following Wednesday, I want you to spend at least 15 minutes working on this project.  15 minutes is easy, right?  You can spend more than 15 if you like and may also pick it up and continue it during the week if you so choose, but you need to at least try to complete those 15 minutes every Wednesday.  This might be enough time to complete half of a granny square or a whole one, a few rounds of a smaller project or a couple of rows of a larger project.  It might not seem like much at all, but I promise, if you continue to do this every Wednesday, you will be seeing results in no time!

If you haven’t started your procrastination crochet project yet, spend your 15 minutes today gathering or shopping for supplies.  If your project is already in the works, pull it out, dust it off and get stitching!  If you feel you don’t have the skills needed to make what you want to make, then take this time to research – watch some YouTube videos, sign up for a class, enlist a friend to mentor or tutor you, or check out Ravelry or Craftsy for all kinds of great projects and learning resources!

So what are you waiting for?  You have nothing to lose!  Let’s accomplish great things together!  Join the challenge, post here and keep yourself accountable by posting on the BMD Facebook page and/or your own Facebook page.  And of course, I would love to see photos and updates of your works in progress!
